DJ Uncle Al's Killer In Custody In Florida Jail

MIAMI The man who allegedly shot and killed Miami DJ Albert ''Uncle Al'' Moss five years ago is in custody Saturday. In South Florida members of communities plagued by violence gathered to remember and honor those killed and affected by violence.

Darnen Fabian Watson, who was serving 12 years in an Ohio federal prison for a drug charge, has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held in a Florida jail.

Saturday in Liberty City, the annual, "Peace In The Hood" event took place, attracting members of communities broken apart by senseless violence. The event took place right at the same time the Miami DJ, Uncle Al's, murderer was taken into custody.

Miami-Dade Police caught a break in the September 10th, 2001, murder case when Watson confessed to the killing to two fellow inmates, who tipped police.

Police say Watson killed Moss over a case of mistaken identity since he thought Moss was the man who stole his radio transmitter, which forced Watson's Jamaican-themed pirate radio station off of Miami's underground frequency.
